The core cast of my personal project, Giant of the Steppe, featuring main character Asel, her mother, her grandmother, and baby Plov.

The film is set in a fantastical land inspired by Central Asia (specifically Kazakhstan and Mongolia), where dangerous wildlife has forced humans to live on the backs of giant cattle.

Intricate rigging on their clothing allows them to 'zipline' from one animal to the next, and their flexible leather shoes and gloves allow them to clamber all over the animals' backs. They feel a deep connection to their beasts, and braid their long fur into their hair to show their bond.
